Off-Peak Charging Rate Comes to Ireland!
We’re always looking for ways to make charging simpler and more affordable, and today we’re bringing something new to our Republic of Ireland network: an off-peak rate that rewards drivers for charging overnight.
What’s changing
From Monday, 6th July, InstaVolt app and InstaVolt RFID card users charging between 8pm and 7am will pay just 55c per kWh, a saving on our standard rate of 85c per kWh. Contactless and roaming customers continue to pay 85c per kWh, available 24/7 across the network, so there’s no change to how easy it is to just tap and charge whenever you need to.
The new rate is designed for drivers who can be flexible about when they charge, whether that’s after a late evening drive or ahead of an early start the next day.
Charging smarter, wherever you are in Ireland
Our Irish network is growing quickly, with 10 sites and 25 ultra-rapid chargers currently live, and further sites planned. As in the UK, we’ve focused on locations where drivers already spend their time, including McDonald’s restaurants, so charging fits naturally around a stop you’re already making rather than adding one.
Every InstaVolt charger, in Ireland and the UK, is powered by 100% renewable energy, and all our sites are open 24/7 with no membership required.
The same InstaVolt app also unlocks off-peak pricing if you cross the border into Northern Ireland, where our UK off-peak rate of 55p per kWh already applies between 8pm and 7am. So wherever your journey takes you, you can charge smarter, day or night.

Off-peak pricing has become one of the most popular features of the InstaVolt app for drivers in the UK, helping to spread demand across the day and giving flexible drivers a way to reduce their charging costs. Bringing the same approach to Ireland means our Irish drivers now benefit from the same smarter, more affordable way to charge.
